On Saturday, May 10 and Sunday, May 11, 2025, Mama's Pride Festival will celebrate its 30th edition!
The Geleen pop festival remains true to its values: a surprising, versatile lineup with a mix of established names and (inter)national talent, always free and accessible to young and old alike.
To honour this anniversary, Mama’s Pride features live acts such as Jan Akkermans' My Focus, LUNA, Kleine John & Chavanté, and CHARLOT, along with a strong Belgian presence from Compact Disk Dummies, Glints, and Ramkot.
Mama's Pride is a pop festival with a mix of established names and new talents. Inspired by the history of the Burgemeester Damenpark as a festival location, the opening act on Saturday, May 10, will be Jan Akkermans' My Focus, in which the legendary guitarist Jan Akkerman pays tribute to the iconic Dutch band Focus, with which he achieved worldwide success in the 1970s and performed at Pinkpop in the Burgemeester Damenpark in Geleen in 1972.
But Mama's Pride is and remains above all a breeding ground for new talent. Following last year’s phenomenon Roxy Dekker, LUNA shines in this year’s lineup. Currently, the alternative pop singer is making waves with her single ‘Liefste’. With Hiqpy (grunge pop), Charlot (synth pop), Bongloard (noise punk), Kleine John & Chavanté (hiphop), Teun (singer-songwriter), Andro (reggae), and Collignon (electronic world music), there are plenty of new Dutch acts to keep an eye on.
There is also a strong Belgian presence at this anniversary edition of Mama's Pride. The Belgian electro-rock brothers Compact Disk Dummies will guarantee a spectacular live show full of pumping beats and raw synths. Like them, Ramkot also brings a solid dose of rock to Geleen: the three-piece band from Ghent is known for their ‘ram rock’ and is one of the most explosive live bands of the moment. For those who prefer to dance through the weekend, there is Glints, the Antwerp artist who effortlessly blends hip-hop with electronic beats and pop melodies. His fresh sound and energetic performance make him an absolute crowd-puller. Finally, there is Lézard, a danceable post-punk disco band from Ghent that will make the hearts of XTC and Talking Heads fans beat faster.
Mama's Pride is proud of its Limburg roots and its role as a springboard for local talent. In addition to the above-mentioned lineup on the main stage, the programme will be expanded with a stage for Limburg talent in collaboration with Poppodium Volt and Muziekhub Zuid, the Wilhelmina Stage with lots of ambiance and nostalgia, and the Kunstbende Limburg stage for talents up to 18 years old. The festival also features additional programming for the whole family and space for regional cultural initiatives, such as the youth organisation the Breakfast Club.
The free festival takes place on May 10 and 11, 2025, in the familiar Burgemeester Damenpark in Geleen. The organisation expects around 20,000 visitors.
