On 1 May 2025, the Province of Limburg launched a new funding scheme for small SMEs.

The scheme is aimed at small business owners who wish to make their business premises or processes more sustainable. Through this scheme, entrepreneurs can engage qualified professionals to help them take concrete steps towards sustainability.

Depending on the entrepreneur’s needs, the support may take various forms. This could include drafting a sustainability plan or roadmap, conducting an energy scan, offering advice on making business processes more sustainable and efficient, or providing insight into financial, technical, or legal options for sustainability. Entrepreneurs are free to choose an expert, experienced external adviser who matches their specific issue. The scheme covers up to 90% of eligible advisory costs, with a maximum of €2,800 per business.

Limburg saves

As part of the scheme, the website www.limburgbespaart.nl will be officially launched on 26 May 2025. On this site, entrepreneurs can find more information about the scheme and read sustainability stories of other business owners. It also serves as a source of inspiration for making their own business more sustainable.

Applications

Applications for the funding have been possible since 1 May via the Province of Limburg’s subsidy portal at www.limburg.nl. The scheme will run until 1 May 2027.
