King’s Day “Music Festival on the Square”

GELEEN - The city centre of Geleen will feature a wide range of events in the Spring and Summer of 2026. The first event on the agenda is the traditional celebration of King’s Day.

At 15:00, the “Music Festival on the Square” will start in front of the old town hall. Among others, Wir Sind Spitze!, Big Benny, Guus Niesing, Vaerdig, and the “Nederpop” tribute band Vermaat will provide a festive lineup. The programme will run until midnight. And best of all: the event is free and open to everyone!

King’s Day in Geleen traditionally ends with a spectacular fireworks show. At the request of the municipality, an alternative has been chosen this year: a 20-minute light, laser, and projection show celebrating 25 years of Sittard-Geleen. This will take place on the market square, between the old town hall and the Galfetti building. The show can be attended free of charge. After the show, the party will kick off one last time with Wir Sind Spitze! as the explosive finale.

Music between performances will be provided by DJ José Paldino.
