Sold-out start for outdoor cinema Filmhuis ZICHT: three more special film evenings to go
Limbricht - Last Friday, art cinema ZICHT kicked off the outdoor cinema season in the orchard of the Hinschenveld in Limbricht. The evening was completely sold out and attracted visitors from all over the region.
Under a beautiful sunset, people enjoyed a drink and fries, while the band Sjeng Sjer and the Sjele set the tone. As soon as the stars appeared, the French feel-good film En Fanfare started, and the orchard transformed into an enchanting open-air cinema.
Under the starry sky
If you missed this first film evening, you can still enjoy films under the starry sky in the coming weeks. On Friday, August 29, art cinema ZICHT will be present at the Sint Rosa Festival in Sittard with the stunning 4K restoration of Plein Soleil (1960). The classic by René Clément with Alain Delon is known as one of the gems of French cinema and promises a stylish, sizzling summer evening.
On Friday, September 5, De Biesenhof in Geleen will be the setting for the premiere of The Penguin Lessons. Prior to the film, there will be live music by Phie Enswie, and visitors can also reserve a dinner arrangement in the farm. The film itself tells a true story full of hope, resilience, and unexpected friendship, in which an English teacher in Argentina develops a special bond with a penguin he rescues from an oil-polluted beach.
Outdoor cinema season
The outdoor cinema season will end on Saturday, September 13, in the Jardin d’Isabelle in Sittard. There, the film Le Pot-au-Feu will be shown in collaboration with the Wijngaard Fort Sanderbout vineyard. The evening will feature a charming pre-programme with a performance by the band Don’t Skip, and visitors can choose an arrangement that includes a tour and wine tasting in the vineyard. The special location, combined with film, music, and food and drinks, promises a festive end to the season.
