On Wednesday, April 9, Visit Zuid-Limburg will present the cross-border cycling route Wondering across borders. The route leads past more than 35 wonder locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
The Wondering across borders route is an extension of the successful Visit Zuid-Limburg product Route full of Wonder and the Reflection Cycling Route of the municipality of Echt-Susteren. Wondering across borders, and in the South Limburg Grensmaas Valley, Belgium and Germany are just a stone's throw away. During the cycling route, you can visit three countries in one day, experience the cultural-historical connections, and admire, among other things, four special churches that are more than 1000 years old.
The common thread within this thematic route is the digital unlocking of locations that invite reflection and contemplation. Along the way, you will pass several contemplation sites such as churches, chapels, nature, but also undiscovered gems, museums, and buildings with a special story. Many of these locations are often closed to visitors, so the story behind the doors remains hidden. Within this project, several locations have therefore been digitally unlocked. Through a 360-degree multimedia tour complete with audio and video fragments and special audio tours, the wonders of the region can be viewed and listened to at any time.
In the Grensmaas Valley, you will encounter numerous special buildings and places full of stories, but what do you do when the doors are closed? Will you move on? You won’t during the “Route full of Wonder”!
