Sittard – On Saturday, 7 November, Watersley Sports & Talent Park will be transformed into a terrifying setting for the Watersley Halloween Trail.
As darkness falls, runners and walkers will venture into the woods for a journey filled with suspense and spooky encounters. But before reaching the dark forest, they will face another challenge: the Haunted House. Are you brave enough? Registration is open until 5 November, subject to availability.
A spooky adventure for all ages
Participants can choose from three distances: a 5-kilometre walk, a 5-kilometre run or a 10-kilometre run. Along the way, the route takes participants along dark forest trails and through the Watersley park, where spooky surprises await at no fewer than 14 locations. A headlamp or flashlight is therefore essential!
The 10-kilometre run is open to participants aged 16 and over. The minimum age for the 5-kilometre distance is 8. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
First the haunted house, then the dark forest
Before setting off on their trail, participants must first make it through the Haunted House. At Plaza Watersley, Totally Halloween is creating a walk-through haunted house, with a maximum of ten people allowed inside at a time. Something unexpected could be lurking around every corner. There is just one important rule: don't touch the monsters, and they won't touch you!
Entry to the Haunted House is included with every distance. Only after completing this first thrilling challenge does the adventure through the dark forests of Watersley begin.
From a thrilling start to a warm finish
Registration opens at 17:00 at Plaza Watersley, Watersley 31 in Sittard. The first participants will set off at 18:00 for their exciting journey through the dark woods. The final participants are expected to cross the finish line at around 22:00.
The finish line is located at Watersley's historic monastery, where participants will receive a warm welcome after all the excitement, including complimentary hot chocolate. A well-deserved ending to an unforgettable Halloween evening!
Come by bike if possible!
Watersley is expected to be busy during the Halloween Trail. We therefore encourage participants and visitors to travel by bike whenever possible. That way, the adventure starts on the way there, while keeping the venue easily accessible for everyone. Those arriving by car can park for free.
Last chance to register
The participation fee is €15 for the 5-kilometre distance and €18 for the 10-kilometre distance. Admission to the Haunted House and one complimentary drink at the finish line are included.
Registration is online only and closes on Thursday, 5 November. But don't wait too long: once all places are filled, registration closes!
Are you brave enough to face your fears? Put on your running or walking shoes, bring your headlamp or flashlight, and experience a Halloween evening you won't forget.
