SITTARD – Watersley is no ordinary sports venue. Located on a historic monastery estate in Sittard-Geleen, it brings together elite sport, talent development, education and wellbeing in an environment full of ambition.
Every day, people here work to turn dreams into reality. Watersley is a community in which athletes and supporters inspire and strengthen one another, helping each other achieve their sporting goals.
On Saturday, 13 June, everyone will have the opportunity to experience this for themselves. During the 2026 Open House,
Watersley will open its doors and transform the park into a place where you can do more than just look around — you will take part. Rather than standing on the sidelines, you can step onto the field and experience what it feels like to be part of a high-performance sports environment.
Join in and discover your sport
There will be activities across the entire site. Visitors can take part in sports clinics including cycling, mountain biking, ice hockey and football. Guided by coaches and athletes, you will experience what it is like to train at an elite sports facility. During meet-and-greet sessions, you will meet athletes and coaches and hear their stories first-hand.
For children, the Kids Zone offers plenty of fun with sports and games, a bouncy castle and a mini cycling course. Meanwhile, food trucks and the Tasting Room (Proeflokaal) provide a relaxed atmosphere where visitors can enjoy food, drinks and music.
A unique behind-the-scenes experience
If you have ever wondered what normally happens behind the scenes, this is a unique opportunity. Doors that are usually closed will be opened to the public. You can walk through the monastery, see where athletes stay and discover how everything comes together at this unique location. It is the perfect way to experience why Watersley is so much more than just a sports park.
Watersley Dream Society: turning dreams into reality
During the Open Day, you will also experience the power of the Watersley Dream Society — a community where people help one another make their sporting dreams come true.
When registering, this is your chance to tell us about your personal sporting dream. One dream will be selected from all submissions, and together with the support of the entire Watersley community, we will try and turn your dream into a reality.
The Open House showcases what Watersley stands for: a place where ambition thrives, people empower one another, and dreams are closer than you think.
