It's April again, which means that the spring season has returned with higher temperatures, and more people decide to go out for a stroll or a bike trip.

And it's good timing that the ferry services for cyclists and pedestrians on the Meuse river have started again. Pedestrians and cyclists can cross the river by ferry at four locations:

  • at Meers
  • at Berg aan de Maas (also accessible for cars)
  • at Grevenbicht
  • at Ohé en Laak.

Operating Times 2025

  • April and October: only available in the weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • May to September: daily service from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
  • July and August: daily service from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Fees

The three ferries for cyclists and pedestrians are free of charge. Motorized traffic is not allowed on these ferries. The car ferry between Meeswijk (Maasmechelen) and Berg aan de Maas (Stein) is also accessible for motorized traffic (a fee is charged on this ferry).
