Festival Secret Gardens of Sittard
On September 21, between 12:00 and 17:00 PM, the 11th edition of the Secret Gardens of Sittard Festival will take place in several gardens in the centre of Sittard.
In these public, yet for many still unknown green oases in the heart of the city, you can enjoy musical performances, e.g. by Baroesjko, the See Sharp Big-Band, and the Musac ensemble, which plays music with authentic historical instruments.
Vocal performances and poetry
The Bedside-singers and Monique/Peter, and the Voices of Kids children's choir will also be present. Additionally, poets will present their work, a yoga session will be provided, ceramics will be exhibited, and archaeological finds and historical recipes will be on display. A bagpipe and a flag bearer are present too. And you can take part in a Celtic-inspired walk, visits to the Fort Sanderbout vineyard and allotments and witness the work of a beekeeper and syrup maker. Nature preservation organisations like De Rollen and #fruit will also be present.
In short, an afternoon full of green, cultural, and historical pleasure!
For those interested, a 'walk & bites' card can be purchased (to be booked in advance via the website geheimetuinen.nl!), to combine the visits to the Secret Gardens with delightful bites at four different locations!
Opening: at 12:00 near and in the Michielskerk, with a 'green procession'!
