Reporting fireworks nuisance

If you are experiencing nuisance caused by fireworks, you can report this at the municipality. It is difficult to take action against firework nuisance because setting off fireworks happens very quickly and often in a short time.

This makes it nearly impossible to catch offenders in the act and issue a fine. Nevertheless, we ask you to report any nuisance you experience. Only when we know where fireworks are being set off, we can actively enforce the rules. For example, we can increase our presence in these locations.

If you suspect storage, trade, or transport of (professional) fireworks, please report this to the police by calling 0900 88 44 or to report the criminal activity anonymously to Meld Misdaad Anoniem by calling 0800 70 00 or via the website.

What Is allowed?

Between 31 December at 18:00 and 1 January at 02:00, it is permitted to set off category F1 and F2 fireworks. More information about firework regulations can be found on the website of the Dutch government.

What Is not allowed?

All F3 category fireworks
Bangers (such as firecrackers)
Strings of bangers (such as Chinese firecrackers)
Rockets
Loose single-shot tubes (such as single shots)
Carbide shooting
