Sittard on the move during the Anytime Fitness Santa Run!

Anytime Fitness Sittard and Anytime Fitness Sittard-Lahrhof are organising a recreational running event in the centre of Sittard on Saturday, 20 December – as part of the Sittard Christmas Streets – surrounded by the full Christmas atmosphere.

How special is that?!

Everyone can take part

Runners of all levels can participate in this run, which will start at 15:00. Participants can choose a distance between 2 and 10 kilometres, running a self-selected number of laps of 2 kilometres each.

“Although we understand that everyone an individual personal challenge, the organisers have not attached a competitive element to this run. We simply want to get as many people from the region moving as possible, and then let them enjoy the Christmas atmosphere on the Market square. You don’t need to be a member of our clubs to take part,” explains Tom Janssen, owner of Anytime Fitness Sittard.

Complete laps and win prizes!

The event is not entirely free of competition, though. “In the context of the upcoming Olympic Winter Games, participants collect Olympic Rings during the Santa Run. Each time you cross the start/finish line and complete a two-kilometre lap, you will receive an Olympic Ring. After the run – during a true ring tossing game – these can earn great prizes, provided by Sittard’s hospitality businesses. So, you can still reward yourself for your achievement.”

People can easily register via the website afsittard.nl/santarun. After your online registration, you’ll receive a confirmation and, prior to the event, a message with all the practical information for participants!
