Track works: buses replace trains between Sittard–Heerlen and Sittard–Maastricht Randwyck

On Sunday 1 February, ProRail will be carrying out track maintenance around Sittard. Due to these works, no trains will run all day; buses will replace trains between Sittard and Heerlen, between Sittard and Maastricht Randwyck, and during the morning hours between Sittard and Roermond.

Passengers should allow for longer travel times. Existing connections cannot be guaranteed.

RS12 Sittard – Maastricht Randwyck

On Sunday 1 February, no trains will run between Sittard and Maastricht Randwyck. Passengers can use buses that stop at all intermediate stations.

RS15 Sittard – Heerlen

On Sunday 1 February, no trains will run between Sittard and Heerlen. Passengers can use buses that stop at all intermediate stations.

RS12 Sittard – Roermond

On Sunday 1 February, no trains will run between Sittard and Roermond during the morning hours (until 11:30). Passengers can use buses that stop at all intermediate stations.

Travel with replacement bus services

To travel on a replacement bus service, passengers need a valid ticket, such as an OV-chipkaart. Passengers must check in at the station of departure and check out again at the destination. Due to the layout of the buses, it is not possible to take a bicycle on board.

Are you travelling with a wheelchair or mobility scooter? For these passengers, a special taxi service is provided during service disruptions, as the replacement bus services are not equipped for wheelchairs or mobility scooters. For more information, see arriva.nl/reizenmetbeperking.

Longer travel time

Passengers should take into account longer travel times. Existing connections cannot be guaranteed. The timetable for the replacement bus services can be found on the Arriva website. Arriva will inform passengers about the impact of these works on their train journey via information screens on trains, the Arriva website, posters at stations, and messages on social media.
