Different waste collection days around the holidays and disposal of fireworks
Around the holidays, the waste collection days for your address may differ from what you are used to. Please consult the waste calendar on our website or in the RWM app to see on which day we will collect your waste.
Disposal of fireworks
Fireworks during New Year's Eve create a considerable amount of waste every year. After the celebrations, it is important to clear the streets of all this firework debris. By properly cleaning up spent fireworks, we prevent firework waste from becoming harmful litter.
Spent fireworks can be disposed of with the residual waste. It is important, however, that the fireworks are completely cooled down and are no longer smouldering or glowing. For extra safety, thoroughly wet the used fireworks first and then throw them away with the residual waste.
Free firework disposal at the recycling centres (Mileuparken)
From 2 to 9 January, spent fireworks can be handed in free of charge at the municipal recycling centres. This allows you to save money on your household residual waste and together we can enjoy clean streets.
Closure of waste containers
From 31 December to 2 January, RWM will close the above-ground and underground containers for paper, PMD and textiles. This precaution is to prevent potential fire damage. Please do not place your waste next to the containers but keep it at home until the containers are open again.
Changed opening times of recycling centres
- On 24 December and 31 December, the municipal recycling centres are open until 12:00.
- On 25 December, 26 December and 1 January, our recycling centres are closed.
